CBD Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Many of us can agree that chocolate chip cookies are delicious and they happen to be one of our favorite snacks to infuse CBD into. It is easier to infuse CBD into sweets and baked goods because they do a good job of covering up any bitter taste of the CBD and because it blends well with butter. Of course it is simpler to drizzle the CBD on top of the cookies but it’s recommended that you mix the oil into your ingredients for the best experience and longer lasting effect.

Why bake with CBD? 

CBD-infused baked goods are an excellent way to enjoy the many benefits of CBD. As long as you properly bake the cookies, you will enjoy long-lasting therapeutic relief in a tasty edible form. Edibles are known to last longer due to the CBD being released slowly into your system as it’s digested. Baking also allows for you to get precisely measured serving sizes and dosing. The below recipe will have around 24 cookies each containing 20mg. 

It is important to keep temperature in mind when baking with CBD. CBD begins to evaporate at temperatures higher than 320 to 356 degrees fahrenheit so you will not want to cook it any higher than this nor will you want to keep it in this high heat for too long. We recommend cooking a tad bit longer at a lower temperature around 300 degrees to ensure not destroying any of the CBD content. 

The Recipe

Ingredients:

½ cup (1 stick) butter, softened

¾ cup sugar

¾ cup brown sugar, packed

2 large eggs

1-2 teaspoons vanilla extract

500mg natural or mint CBD oil

2 ¼ cups flour

¾ teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

 

Directions:

Preheat oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.

Using an electric mixer, combine softened butter and sugars until soft and fluffy (approximately 2–3 minutes). Add eggs and mix well. Add vanilla extract and CBD oil and blend on low until all ingredients are incorporated.

Add flour, baking soda and salt. Mix well with electric mixer or wooden spoon until smooth. Do not overmix. Stir in chocolate chips with wooden spoon.

Scoop tablespoon-size drops of cookie dough onto ungreased cookie sheets approximately 2 inches apart. Bake in preheated oven approximately 20-24 minutes, or until golden brown.

 

 

Use a spatula to transfer hot cookies to a wire rack to cool.

Cookies can remain stored in a tightly sealed container for up to 5 days.
